Nursing Schools in Colorado

It takes work to become a professional nurse in Colorado. All you need is to be properly trained in any of the Nursing Schools in Colorado. There are many of them in various cities within the state. You’re sure to have the best of nursing education when you must have gone through the right training program.
Most Nursing Schools in Colorado offer the same programs in various levels. There may be little differences here and there but on the average, most of the programs are almost the same. Let’s take a look at the basic programs.
- Diploma in Nursing
This is the basic nursing program for everyone who has completed high school. You must possess a high school diploma or GED in health sciences in order to be eligible. The health sciences you’re expected to pass well include Biology, Chemistry and so on. You’re also expected to have credits in English, Math and other subjects. At the end of this program, you’ll be awarded a diploma in Nursing.
- Associate of Science Nursing
This is also known as ASN. You must possess a good diploma in nursing to engage in the program. Lots of medical courses are taught theoretically and practically under the program. The programs run mainly for 2 years. If you’re successful at the end of the program, you’ll receive the ASN certificate.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
This program usually runs for 4 years in most Nursing Schools in Colorado. You’re expected to have a diploma or Associate degree in order to engage in the program. Students under this program are exposed to higher medical courses. At the end of the program, successful students end up bagging BSN certificate in Nursing.
- Master of Science in Nursing
This is the post graduate level in nursing education. It usually lasts for 1 to 2 years depending on the institution. You must possess Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) before you can be admitted for the program. Students who succeed in the program end up bagging MSN certificate.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice
This is the highest level in the nursing education. Most Nursing Schools in Colorado offer this program. It’s meant for students who want to serve as Registered or licensed nurses. Several programs are offered under this level. Lots of professional examinations are also conducted. Successful students under the program end up bagging the Doctorate certificate in Nursing.
